REACH Personal Development Project
Not all young people will be ready or have the necessary skills and confidence to get actively involved in the above volunteering opportunities straight away so the Personal Development project (REACH) will offer a young people a framework to enable them to develop skills such as teamwork, communication, promoting self esteem and confidence.
This project will also be offered to groups and incorporate teambuilding, practical skills development and involvements in small scale community projects.
The beneficiaries would be offered keys skills, for example development in literacy and numeracy. We will promote the community aspect by having a community project or element to every group. This will take place in partnership with local community groups and will involve either art, music or physical environmental improvements based upon the interests of the group and local need.
REACH will act as a precursor to the UNZIPPED, SSPIN projects and GENERAL VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES. REACH will be offered to other local agencies to help support their clients/volunteers.
