General Volunteering Opportunities
General volunteering opportunities will be available to young people and other members of the community. Opportunities will be available within the Youth Forum or with partner organisations and all partner organisations will all agree to a 'minimum standards' framework to ensure consistency across the partnership. Experiences will include 'real-life' working experiences including planning, delivery and evaluation of projects.
To ensure a consistent framework across all projects EVERY INDIVIDUAL WILL HAVE AN INITIAL ASSESSMENT. At the end of this stage each individual will have a unique ‘action plan’ or ‘Personal Development Plan’ that would detail what they would like to achieve during their period as a volunteer.
It will be the Volunteer Support Worker's role to help support and guide each individual on the volunteer programme and to enable project staff to better support their volunteers. This will take the form of regular supervision sessions and guidance to help achieve action points as detailed on the young persons' Personal Development Plans. We have developed key partnerships within the district and can offer progression for young people including links to social enterprises, apprenticeships, further volunteering/training opportunities and having an increased chance of gaining employment.
