SSYF Awarded Big Lottery Fund

As the SSYF staff jump around in jubilation the SSYF Trustee's relieve a huge sigh. The future is bright, we can start planning and implementing, continue to develop projects that underpin the core values of the Youth Forum. We owe a huge thanks to everyone at the Big Lottery Fund. SSYF lead the delivery of the district’s ‘Hear by right’ standard

The core aim; to provide a framework for young people to have their say in local decision making processes. (We are one of (if not) the first voluntary organisation in the UK to be asked to lead on this Nationwide initiative.

 

SSYF commended at the National Awards Ceremony of National Crimebeat for helping to reduce crime and creating a safer community.

 

SSYF successfully achieved accredited centre status with the Open College Network.

 

SSYF Broad Place

The Youth Forum office is a fully operational Broadplace centre that offers the free use of the internet and access to the Broadplace equipment including laptops, cameras and other IT equipment.

 

Satellite Youth Forums

This year has been one of change notably with SSDC taking on the Hear By Right standards for young peoples’ involvement, for which we have taken responsibility for the work with young people across the district in order to meet the emerging standard.  This has required us to develop a new approach, one of setting up satellite youth forums within the District and enabling them to facilitate their own community action projects, so far we have groups in Cleobury Ludlow and Diddlebury and are looking to develop some work in the Clun/Bishops Castle area.
